REMEMBRANCE
When I am gone,
Please remember me
As a heartfelt laugh,
As a tenderness.
Hold fast to the image of me
When my soul was on fire,
The light of love shining
Through my eyes.
Remember me
When I was singing
And seemed to know my way.
Remember always
When we were together
And time stood still.
Remember most
Not what I did,
Or who I was --
Oh please remember me
For what I always
Desired to be:
A smile on the face of God.

Do not regret growing older. It is a privilege denied to many.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. The heathen raged, the kindgoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth. He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
Psalm 46

Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it, have never known it again.
~ Ronald Reagan

That's a great picture - he really does look like he's dancing!
What a chilling thought for today as it's so hot. Thanks for stopping by, we went to dinner to Alice Fazoolis, which is a Applebee type of place, I could see the hostess dressed in her nightie if we had gone to some freaky "in" place but this was just in a mall.
It does look like he's dancing! Sure could use a little winter weather right now, LOL!
You must have used a nice zoom lens to get that picture. Good shot. When I first got my camera I bought a great zoom lens and was out trying to shoot everything I could. I haven't taken many pictures lately. I need to get back to it.
Too hot and humid here to do much outside. Near 100 every day with heat index higher. Plus I've had our 12 year old grandson and 3 of my neighbor's grandsons too this week and next week.
You were up late again, feeling poetic. Feeling tired, myself, but off to the fireworks we go!
Mari, I think he was at least thinking about it!
Irene, that just blows my mind. I cannot imagine what they are thinking.
Donna M., I so look forward to fall! And even winter, which here is so mild and comfortable as a rule.
Debbie, would you believe that's just a crop of a larger picture? I was amazed at how clear it turned out ... and although I took the picture last January, it was only recently that I noticed that little bird's prancing stance. It's unreal hot here too. Sounds like you're doing more than your share of helping out in the heat!
Sue, I know ... I need to get to bed earlier! Fireworks? What fun! I assume we'll see pictures on Nostalgic Nana?
Nice captures. Looks like these photos have some soft light effect on them.. :-)
