REMEMBRANCE
When I am gone,
Please remember me
As a heartfelt laugh,
As a tenderness.
Hold fast to the image of me
When my soul was on fire,
The light of love shining
Through my eyes.
Remember me
When I was singing
And seemed to know my way.
Remember always
When we were together
And time stood still.
Remember most
Not what I did,
Or who I was --
Oh please remember me
For what I always
Desired to be:
A smile on the face of God.

Do not regret growing older. It is a privilege denied to many.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. The heathen raged, the kindgoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth. He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
Psalm 46

Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it, have never known it again.

That was a good one!
Our favourite Brit-Com ever! I just bought the DVD's of the series from Costco a few months ago. More one-liners in those shows than any other ever written, I think. I just wish there had been more episodes.
I use to LOVE watching this on PBS...Love Anything English...
hughugs
Donna loves me!
Mari ... an excellent example of the genre!
Sue ... I know ... why were there so few episodes? That show is like crack. And yes ... understandably, Donna loves you! Like so many other Americans hooked on British telly!
Donna ... agreed ... the BBC is the gold standard.
I love this show, I've actually gotten the movies from the library and watched them, didn't know Cosco had them, guess where I'm going. I love your little cash register reciept.
Irene ... we watch TVoD courtesy of Netflix ... I laugh myself silly every time we see an episode. I love Emma Chambers. She is so cute and funny. I hope you'll get yourself a little cash register receipt! I did that ages ago. I hope the web site's still there.
We have our 12 year old grandson last week and for another week or so. A 12 year old friend has been hanging with him the entire time. I took them to see The Sorcerer's Apprentice today, out to eat, do a little shopping.
It is so funny to just listen to them. They were having a long conversation in "English", complete with the cockney accent, missing "t;s" in words, and all. So funny. They did a pretty good job too.
Debbie ... wish I could have heard that! My sister and I loved to talk "English" when we were kids. Come to think of it, I still do, dahling!
Ah, but Jenny, you speak the "posh" English, not lower-class like me. My family were all slummers.
Sue, LOL I'm a total mutt. I'd love to learn to talk slummer! I can do Cockney, and PIRATE! What say you to that?
I say you are enormously talented. The only accent I can do is my own!
"And I believe they both might be butter...in a cunning disguise. And in fact there's a lot more butter around than we all thought there was."
I have never seen or heard of this show before. But based on this one clip, I declare it to be brilliant. I'll never be able to look at I Can't Believe It's Not Butter the same way ever again.
Sue ... I don't believe you!
Kev ... I know, right? This show will have you laughing so hard, you'll be gasping, holding onto your seat for dear life. It's relentlessly funny. And as always for me, it's real butter only!
