REMEMBRANCE

When I am gone

Please remember me

 As a heartfelt laugh,

 As a tenderness.

Hold fast to the image of me

When my soul was on fire,

The light of love shining

Through my eyes.

Remember me when I was singing

And seemed to know my way.

Remember always

When we were together

And time stood still.

Remember most not what I did,

Or who I was;

Oh please remember me

For what I always desired to be:

A smile on the face of God.

You Want To Find This
The Promise Of Redemption

Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

So then death worketh in us, but life in you.

We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I BELIEVED, AND THEREFORE HAVE I SPOKEN; we also believe, and therefore speak;

Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.

For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

II Corinthians 4

THE DREAMERS

In the dawn of the day of ages,
In the youth of a wondrous race,
'Twas the dreamer who saw the marvel,
'Twas the dreamer who saw God's face.

On the mountains and in the valleys,
By the banks of the crystal stream,
He wandered whose eyes grew heavy
With the grandeur of his dream.

The seer whose grave none knoweth,
The leader who rent the sea,
The lover of men who, smiling,
Walked safe on Galilee --

All dreamed their dreams and whispered
To the weary and worn and sad
Of a vision that passeth knowledge.
They said to the world: "Be glad!

"Be glad for the words we utter,
Be glad for the dreams we dream;
Be glad, for the shadows fleeing
Shall let God's sunlight beam."

But the dreams and the dreamers vanish,
The world with its cares grows old;
The night, with the stars that gem it,
Is passing fair, but cold.

What light in the heavens shining
Shall the eye of the dreamer see?
Was the glory of old a phantom,
The wraith of a mockery?

Oh, man, with your soul that crieth
In gloom for a guiding gleam,
To you are the voices speaking
Of those who dream their dream.

If their vision be false and fleeting,
If its glory delude their sight --
Ah, well, 'tis a dream shall brighten
The long, dark hours of night.

Flag on the gunplay

As I mentioned on Monday, Javier hasn't been feeling well.

I am not a veterinarian, nor do I play one on television, but I think he's suffering from an attack of bursitis in his right shoulder.

Or right front leg. Whatever.

Absent a real (or even TV) veterinarian's opinion -- which I do not believe the $ituation warrant$ a$ of yet -- I have come to that conclusion because apart from obvious occasional pain, the little guy acts normal.

As in, he still relishes his food and wags his tail and trots around outside several times a day, checking his messages.

He just does it all a trifle more slowly -- as you will too, when you reach the age of nearly ninety-eight (which Javier will be in July) -- and deliberately.

But there is the unexpected whine or yelp from time to time when he experiences a pang and it's quite pitiful, so naturally I've been babying him. Even more than usual.

(I am hoping that temperatures in the high seventies forecast for the weekend will alleviate any discomfort he may be feeling from the cold, even though he DOES have his OWN space heater).

At any rate Javier's the consummate lap dog on his best day -- sleeping twenty out of twenty-four, twenty-four seven, three sixty-five -- so you can imagine how he gloms on when he doesn't feel well.

All of the above has conspired to make me spend more time on the Internet than I usually do, and specifically, checking out the comments, observations, and links provided by hard-right conservatives on Twitter.

Hold The Phone Y'all.

That's how I happened to see a tweet from a young man on said social media site, in which he was engaging a liberal black female who had accused him publicly of being a rrrrrrrracist.

Why? What did he do?

It was really veddy teddible. Ghaastly, if you must know.

The header on his Twitter page was a picture of an American flag flying beside the British Union Jack.

And the liberal black female thought he was displaying a Confederate flag.

NTTAWWT. (Displaying a Confederate flag, that is.)

The young man in question happens to be British by birth but he lives in New York, where he writes for a conservative publication.

I know all that because I took fifteen seconds to read his Twitter bio.

He had been tweeting conservative views involving gun control -- as in, read the Second Amendment, jolly good, keep calm and keddy on -- when his header picture caught the eye of the aforementioned liberal black female.

Stick It To The Chap.

Knickers instantly in a perfectly frightful twist, she lit into him faster than you can say fish and chips:

but you're tweeting and commenting about the Constitutional rights of ppl in THIS country?—

?????

Then:

How does that even make sense? This guy is "defending American's constitutional right to bear arms" with the confederate flag shining.—

?????

Then:

B. and got these ignant shook closet racists (shook b/c they can't even admit they're racist and shook) agreeing w/ him. Nobody told him..—

?????

Then:

In THIS country w/ black ppl, raise your confederate flag and we know who you stand with. Front like you're spouting freedom. The KKK did 2.—

?????

THEN:

Be careful when you're supporting your Second Amendment right that you're not playing into the hands of those who would TRULY disarm you.—

.....

Walk On. Nothing Here To See.

The British expat white guy under attack saw her tweets and responded:

It's not a confederate flag, it's the British union flag. I'm British. Go and do some reading.

To which she quickly responded:

here we go..name calling? Smh..it was the Union Jack. Big deal. Still supporting disproportionate murder.—

?????

Notice it was she who called him a racist, a murderer, and perhaps even a member of the Ku Klux Klan.

Somewhat to the liberal black female's credit, she eventually realized her nether regions were on show and sort of apologized to the man she'd wrongfully accused of racism.

But instead of labeling herself "ignant," "racist," and "shook," she euphemized herself as merely emotional:

This convo is a perfect example of what happens when we are emotional about issues.—

But he wasn't about to let her off that easily and I don't blame him.  He replied:

Not emotional, ignorant.

So then she said:

far from ignorant so much as emotional. But I'll agree to disagree if you will sir.

And he answered:

Of course it was ignorance. You thought the British flag was the Confederate flag, and compared me to the KKK.

Then he added:

This isn't about "tolerating viewpoints." You made up a viewpoint for me—the worst there is—and screeched about it in public.

And finished with:

Anyway, I accept your apology. Think before accusing strangers of hideous things—and look at history of guns and race, too.

Death To Reason.

There was more but you can look it up on Twitchy if you wish.

To be fair, I think the liberal black female had enough grace and humility to be truly embarrassed by what she'd done.

As it should be. And we've all made mistakes. But people.

I wish everyone who is of the misinformed notion that, one, The War Between The States was fought over slavery (it wasn't) or that, two, the Confederate flag is a symbol of racist oppression (it isn't), would take about fifteen minutes and read this.

It is the truth.

If you read it, it will help you live the rest of your life with a greater understanding of American history. And a greater knowledge of what's happening today, too.

Of course, if you're a liberal black American, you're not interested in the truth about the history of black folks in America.

You don't want to hear that not all slave owners in the antebellum American South were racist, while many northerners were racist -- and slave owners, too.

You don't want to hear that there have been white slaves and black slaves throughout human history, and that blacks sold blacks to whites, and blacks sold whites to blacks, and whites bought and sold blacks from/to whites and from/to blacks.

You don't want to hear that slavery still exists in the world today, and that it is still colorblind.

It's inconvenient, but the truth often is. That's why so few people are interested in it.

I'll Remember If You Will.

I'm going out on a limb here to say that there does not exist in American society any people more self-interested, pathologically misinformed, petulantly angry, perennially whiny, emotionally immature, and entitlement-minded than the black liberal.

They're also the most powerful tools of the Radical Left, led so deftly, so victoriously, so arrogantly, by the president.

They value symbolism over substance to such an extent, they freely accept the kind of slavery only liberal ideology can impose on a race.

They don't say a word when liberal Democrat policies fossilize them in the wasteland of the welfare mentality, assure their children substandard education, sanction their gross immorality, obliquely encourage their violent lifestyle, and subsidize mass genocide of their race through the unspeakable horrors of abortion.

All to their eternal detriment.

All for the sake of votes.

All for the sake of exerting even more diabolical power over them.

Molon Labe, Babe.

The original subject was gun control, much on everyone's mind and lips these days.

Am I armed? That's for me to know and you to find out.

All you need to know is, I have the right to carry concealed.

If I do carry a concealed firearm, I can assure you it's nothing like the high-powered weapons wielded by the guards who stand watch on the roof of Sidwell Friends, where the president's daughters -- and hundreds of other offspring of the socially, politically, and economically powerful -- attend school.

And it's nothing like the equalizers carried by the hired muscle that protect politicians -- of every stripe -- and celebrities as they move from mansion to limo to private jet to exclusive reception to star-studded premiere and back again.

It's thoroughly documented that where gun laws are strictest, violent crime is most rampant.

But those strict gun laws never apply to or hamper the wealthy, the powerful, the supremely entitled. Not to mention hardened, bloodthirsty, psychotic criminals, who will always have guns, no matter what.

They're just for hard-working, law-abiding schmucks like you and me.

I say: be you black, white, blue, yellow, liberal, conservative, Republican, or Democrat:

Come and take them! If you can. I'll be the one waving the American and the Confederate flags. Maybe the Jolly Roger too, for good measure.

Keep calm and keep carrying.

I am so sorry that your pooch is ailing these days. Perhaps a baby aspirin (amount determined by his weight) would help reduce the aches and pains.

I am growing very concerned over the gun control rhetoric by the lefties. I may very well become a lawbreaker yet!

I'm thinking maybe some arthritis is the diagnosis. Some Glucosamine/Condroitin might help. You can get Wal-Mart over-the-counter version for very reasonable. Might check with the vet as to dosage. I don't think it would hurt, might help.
