Wordplay Wednesday: Not necessarily

I realize my mind works differently from most everyone else's.
I've come to terms with it.
But last Sunday as TG, Erica, and I headed home after having lunch out (not at Gilligan's), this sign gave me a chuckle.
So much so, I drove back over there today to get this picture:
I know. It's clear what they mean: If you come in and order the shrimp, you may eat as many as you like.
They're not required to use hyphens, to make the message technically correct:
All-You-Can-Eat Shrimp
And to be honest, punctuation-wise that wouldn't really be quite right either because it would imply that the shrimp themselves are an all-you-can-eat variety, rather than simply regular shrimp that, upon ordering, you may eat as many of as you are able or willing to stuff into your face.
Still.
This made me laugh because upon reading the sign's message, the question immediately came to my mind:
Well, I know that strictly speaking we all can eat shrimp. But would we all want to? I mean, what about those with allergies to shellfish? They really can't eat shrimp.
So all you can eat -- and you should -- but not all you can eat shrimp.
And do please forgive me if you now wish you could have returned to you the time it took to read that.
Or if you are now craving shrimp of the all-you-can-eat persuasion.

Love the sign, and we are so glad your mind works differently.
My mind works a little differently too. I read it like they were calling the person a shrimp.
I love the way your mind works!
My dear girl, you may not have been a favorite of your mother's but you do have T.G. wrapped around your little finger, and let's face it, You ARE an awesome mom, and grandmother, as am I, (mother that is).
@irene ... you always make me feel better, dear friend. Although I wasn't feeling sorry for myself with my comment on your blog, as much as stating a fact! I've come to terms with lots of things. There is enough love to go around.
@Mari ... now that is an option I had not considered! I LOVE it! I love the way your mind works too, you shrimp you.
