Draw your own conclusions
Since my blogging buddy and dear friend Mari is always bragging about showing us how talented her granddaughter is (actually the entire family are staggeringly gifted in art -- Mari's husband, Bob, made the pirate statue you see to the right of where you're reading), I thought I'd share a grandkid drawing.
Hence the picture of me, above. Created by Dagny.
Did you recognize me? I mean, I know I wear my hair longer than that but I think you'll agree that the black outfit, big mouth, and long spiky eyelashes are, as they say, on point.
Some may even say a dead giveaway.
My ears, however, do not stick out parallel to the floor. No matter what anyone says.
Illustrating (see what I did there) that Dagny does not have to be prodded to produce masterpieces, this artistic offering came completely unsolicited.
She made it during church last Sunday night.
This second portrait is of Dagny herself -- and Peppa Pig, is my guess -- complete with her name written by both me and her.
Can you tell which one she wrote?
This was done several weeks ago, at my house.
Her mouth is also drawn large and open wide, which -- trust me -- is an accurate rendering of the subject.
Although I'm overwhelmed by my genius grandchild's mad skillz, I have only one wish in this regard:
That she never goes up against Alaina in an art contest.
And that is all for now.

Thank goodness - I thought she gave you a beard, but I see she has one too, so I think that's the body. I love when kids draw and begin writing.
Oh Jenny! You never fail to make me laugh.
Yes - I do think Alaina is talented at art, but unfortunately the whole family is not. Particularly me! And Alaina is 3 years older than Dagny, so there's that.
I love Dagny's drawing (especially the eye lashes and the mouth) and I have several that are similar from both Alaina and Ruby. They are all masterpieces - and treasured by us Grandma's, right?
Grandkids are such a blessing and I'm waiting to see what talents God gives all of our granddaughters, and your little Andrew too!
@Barb ... oh yes, my "outfit" comes up really high so I told myself it was a turtleneck, a style I often wear. But why does my right arm come out of my bottom lip? *sigh* #redshoes4ever xoxo
@Mari ... you may not draw but you're gifted in design. Same thing ... artistic is artistic! Yes we have many more surprises and happy discoveries in store where these kiddies are concerned. xoxo
I think Dagny did an absolutely wonderful job, I can see Peppa Pig in the last one. Of course, I just spent the weekend with a five-year-old, my vision has been a bit adjusted.
LOL- OH- I love it. I wish I could find the one CarCar made of me and his family. It is amazing how THEY see us! xo Diana
ps-You look good- love the eyelashes!
@Jane ... yes, hanging out with a five-y-o will change your perspective, that's for sure. Hope you're over that nasty cold. xoxo
@Diana ... Haaahaha thanks girl. I'm sure these are the most treasured treasures on earth. xoxo
