Wordless Wednesday: Southern Scenes

Here are ten more pictures I took of things I enjoyed looking at on my recent trip to beautiful and charming Aiken, South Carolina.
I love the shops ... and the cool alleyways shaded by the delicate tracery of leaves. The colors they use on buildings are so fresh and full of personality.
In all these little towns there are inviting rocking chairs poised on the sidewalk, just waiting for someone to sit down.
Problem is, during the day it's too hot and when it begins to get "cooler" there are too many mosquitoes. So mostly they sit empty.
Maybe I'll go back in late October and sit a spell. I might even buy Christmas presents at Plum Pudding and 3 Monkeys.
~Happy Wednesday!~

Makes me want to visit there. 3 Monkeys and Plum Pudding sound very interesting.

I love your wordless Wednesday, all those words. You crack me up. I really loved that little yellow house. And what great names for shops. The city gardeners put a couple of benches at the end of my street, and I thought,"who is going to sit here?" it's not at the bus stop or any real spot you'd need to rest, I was amazed at how many people sat down. We have a group home for young adults with physical disabilities in our neighborhood and one young man said he just needed some alone time. Nice young guy. So I guess it was a good idea.
I think.....we may be dangerous together.
I would certainly like to visit that town some day. Very interesting names for stores!
Debbie ... don't they just?
Donna ... yep! It'll be neater when the temperature dips below that of molten lava.
Irene ... oh, I know ... me wordless just ain't gonna happen. I am compelled to 'splain everything. Cool about your benches. People love to sit outside! We all need to do it more.
Hobbit ... I think you are absolutely correct.
Cheryl ... I hope you have the opportunity! I think you'd like Aiken. Just don't come in the summer ...
