Just try to remember

Try to remember the kind of September
When life was slow and oh, so mellow
Try to remember the kind of September
When grass was green and grain was yellow
Try to remember the kind of September
When you were a tender and callow fellow
Try to remember, and if you remember,
Then follow ... follow.
Try to remember the kind of September
That no one wept except the willow
Try to remember the kind of September
That dreams were kept beside your pillow
Try to remember the kind of September
When love was an ember about to billow
Try to remember, and if you remember,
Then follow ... follow.
Deep in December, it's nice to remember,
Although you know the snow will follow
Deep in December, it's nice to remember,
Without a hurt the heart is hollow
Deep in December, it's nice to remember,
The fire of September that made us mellow
Deep in December, our hearts should remember
And follow ... follow ... follow.

I can't believe it's September already! A slow and mellow one would be great!
Ohhhh....what a Beautiful post Jennifer....beautiful!!
hughugs
One of my favorite songs even in childhood. Such a sweet video and rememberance.
Thanks much...
Golly, thanks a lot Jenny, I didn't even listen to the video but I've had that song in my ear since before I went to bed last night. Only it's Gladys Knight singing. Who I happen to adore, but that's beside the point. Major ear worm.
Very nice.
Yesterday I was checking Facebook, the only thing I do with it is post a link to my Right Truth articles basically, and I saw where others had left messages for their new "friends", ....
Thanks for being my friend,
Thanks for approving my friend request, etc.
And I thought, this is nuts. I remember a time when friends were actually that, people we met in real life, we could see them, talk to them, shake hands with them. Blogs are one thing, but places like FaceBook and MySpace, and all the others, it's just scary.
I do remember a simpler time.
Mari ... hear, hear!
Donna ... I'm so glad you liked it!
Sydney ... I know; precious memories. And I love the kids on that merry-go-round.
Hobbit ... Gladys Knight sang that? It's back to YouTube for me! But once September hits, I either have this song or Neil's September Morn in my brain the whole time. Then in October it's When October Goes. I'm so predictable.
Debbie ... I remember too, and I feel sorry for young people today with all the electronic gizmos and "social" sites vying for their attention. In fact I'm forming a post on that very subject! Happy September, luv.
