Insist on yourself; never imitate.
Your own gift you can present
every moment
with the cumulative force
of a whole life’s cultivation;
but of the adopted talent of another
you have only an extemporaneous
half possession.
That which each can do best,
none but his Maker can teach him.

Ecstatically shooting everything in sight using my beloved Nikon D3100 with AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G VR kit lens and AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 G prime lens.
Also capturing outrageous beauty left and right with my Nikon D7000 blissfully married to my Nikkor 85mm f/1.4D AF prime glass. Don't be jeal.
And then there was the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200mm f:3.5-5.6G ED VR II zoom. We're done here.

When I am gone
Please remember me
As a heartfelt laugh,
As a tenderness.
Hold fast to the image of me
When my soul was on fire,
The light of love shining
Through my eyes.
Remember me when I was singing
And seemed to know my way.
Remember always
When we were together
And time stood still.
Remember most not what I did,
Or who I was;
Oh please remember me
For what I always desired to be:
A smile on the face of God.
Do not regret growing older. It is a privilege denied to many.

Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
So then death worketh in us, but life in you.
We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I BELIEVED, AND THEREFORE HAVE I SPOKEN; we also believe, and therefore speak;
Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
II Corinthians 4

Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it, have never known it again.

Something tells me there is more to this story!
Mari, you crack me up. Yeah, lots more to the story, but I'm not sure I want to tell it ... suffice it to say that the funny thing is, I DO floss ... almost obsessively. It's one of the few things I do right, well, and often! LOL!
I never floss. I do occasionally use the little wooden sticks, but my teeth are too crowded together to floss, even with the waxed stuff. Each time my hygienist tries, she makes my gums bleed, and how can that be good?
Once my dentist did it for me and I ended up literally in tears. Still, I do have all me own teeth, so it can't all be bad, huh?
Jay, that can't be good (the part about your hygienist hurting you, I mean)! But if your hygienist knows what you're doing and is okay with it -- and, as you point out, you still have your teeth -- it's great! I wish I had your excuse not to floss! I love those little wooden sticks too.
I am experiencing some dental problems right now but the hygienist told me there is no way to underestimate the good I've done myself by faithfully flossing! My kids all tell me they're too lazy to bother.
I remember a Listerine mouthwash commercial that said using their product killed germs, freshened breath AND gave you all the benefits of flossing.
It sounded too good to be true, but I chose to believe it...
WEll, I had to come right over to see what this verb is all about! I floss but not because I like it or because I want to. It is a necessity since my last fillings. Not sure why.
Hope your teeth are happy teeth!
Kev, I don't think you read the small print, my friend ... but as it happens, I'm addicted to Listerine too! I like Vanilla Mint ...
Cheryl, they're as happy as can be expected under the circumstances! Good for you, a flosser! :-)
I don't floss. I have never had a cavity. I have all my teeth except the four the dentist pulled so the braces would work, and one that crumbled (from malnutrition as a baby), even tho I had flouride treatments every six months for ages - are you sure flossing isn't what CAUSED the problems? (Don't mind me, I have a well-deserved grudge against my childhood dentist, but that's another story).
Tracie, you put an interesting spin on it, but no, I'm pretty sure flossing did not cause my problems! I think it has helped me tremendously, but unfortunately I have a genetic predisposition to weak gums. TG, like you, has never had a cavity and does not floss (at least not regularly) but like me, he's addicted to Listerine! He likes the plain brown kind though ... yech.
Since I my teeth cleaning last October, I've been practically addicted to flossing. I can't stand to go to bed without flossing. It's so much cleaner and prettier. The picks with floss on them work the best. Regular floss is so much more frustrating. Not to mention I don't like having to stick my fingers in my mouth. I will not deny the fact that I have a big mouth, however, that doesn't mean I care to have my hands in it. As good as Listerine may be, ACT fluoride rinse has benefited me the most. And it tastes better.
@ Robyn ... I love the little green Plackers too! Got bags of them all over my house, so I never have to walk very far to reach one. I'm so glad you floss faithfully! I may be switching to ACT on your recommendation! My daughter's dentist endorses that product too.
