The soft eyes open
Late in the day on December twenty-third, after our first big Christmas dinner and initial wave of present-opening, we took the girls to see some horses at a pet resort a mile or two from home.
I took a few pictures and I thought you might like to see this one.

Here they are. The soft eyes open.
If they have lived in a wood
It is a wood.
If they have lived on plains
It is grass rolling
Under their feet forever.
Having no souls, they have come,
Anyway, beyond their knowing.
Their instincts wholly bloom
And they rise.
The soft eyes open.

Oh how familiar this looks. I loved the little farm and the tiny little pony. And how wonderful that just this morning I read this poem. So sweet!! And for some reason it gives me goose bumps. Silly!! Good one dear friend!!
Oh, Miz Jenny!!!!!! I LOVE it! This is one of the special moments when the subject poses "just right" and the lighting is spectacular! And you were smart enough to pay attention and capture the moment! I'm busting my buttons over this one for you!
How lovely, what a pleasant visit.
Beautiful pose! Sounds like y'all had a wonderful Christmas!!
