Try to remember the kind of skyline

Those who know me know I have a strong affinity for cities. The bigger the better.
And I mean, the Big Apple? Get outta here.
However. Those who know me also know, if I'm caught humming a tune about a town, it's more likely to be My Kind of Town, Chicago Is than New York New York.
Be that as it may, I Heart New York and I don't miss an opportunity to visit.
And let's be honest: In September, for any red-blooded patriotic flag-waving American, it's all about New York.
The last time I was privileged to visit Gotham City was in 2011. Springtime.
I had a camera and I wasn't afraid to use it.
The two shots bookending this post were taken from the main observation deck of the Empire State Building.
I didn't like it up there. It was too cold and too crowded for my taste.
But looking at these photos, I have to admit I'm glad I was able to see the matchless New York City from that vantage point, on a clear day in May.
God Bless America.
