So today, Baby Dagny left the hospital and rode in her carseat for the first time and was carried over the threshold of her homey-house by none other than her obsessive loving Mamaw.
Me.
Me and Dag. I have been Dagnified. Once one is Dagnified, they are never the same.
If you do not want to fall prey to her crushingly adorable charms, do not look upon her for the first time.
Oops! Too late.
Today I tooled down to the hospital nursery to watch as Daggy got the twice-over by a pediatrician.
The pediatrician could not stop talking about how cute Dagny is. And this is someone who looks at new babies every day of the week.
Dagny, however, did not let the praise go to her head. She's heard it all a hundred times.
So then, she and I held hands.
Eliciting more yawns.
Then it was time to cruise back down to the room where pretty Mama was waiting.
Waiting to take her treasure home.
First, forty-odd additional kisses.
And Dagny decides to sleep on it some more.
Welcome home, Baby Dagny. We will be needing our hearts back.
But not today.
