REMEMBRANCE

When I am gone

Please remember me

 As a heartfelt laugh,

 As a tenderness.

 Hold fast to the image of me

When my soul was on fire,

The light of love shining

Through my eyes.

Remember me when I was singing

And seemed to know my way.

Remember always

When we were together

And time stood still.

Remember most not what I did,

Or who I was;

Oh please remember me

For what I always desired to be:

A smile on the face of God.

You Want To Find This
The Promise Of Redemption

Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

So then death worketh in us, but life in you.

We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I BELIEVED, AND THEREFORE HAVE I SPOKEN; we also believe, and therefore speak;

Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.

For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

II Corinthians 4

THE DREAMERS

In the dawn of the day of ages,
 In the youth of a wondrous race,
 'Twas the dreamer who saw the marvel,
 'Twas the dreamer who saw God's face.

On the mountains and in the valleys,
By the banks of the crystal stream,
He wandered whose eyes grew heavy
With the grandeur of his dream.

The seer whose grave none knoweth,
The leader who rent the sea,
The lover of men who, smiling,
Walked safe on Galilee --

All dreamed their dreams and whispered
To the weary and worn and sad
Of a vision that passeth knowledge.
They said to the world: "Be glad!

"Be glad for the words we utter,
Be glad for the dreams we dream;
Be glad, for the shadows fleeing
Shall let God's sunlight beam."

But the dreams and the dreamers vanish,
The world with its cares grows old;
The night, with the stars that gem it,
Is passing fair, but cold.

What light in the heavens shining
Shall the eye of the dreamer see?
Was the glory of old a phantom,
The wraith of a mockery?

Oh, man, with your soul that crieth
In gloom for a guiding gleam,
To you are the voices speaking
Of those who dream their dream.

If their vision be false and fleeting,
If its glory delude their sight --
Ah, well, 'tis a dream shall brighten
The long, dark hours of night.

They Didn't Get The Memo

The Dow took the biggest post-election plunge in the history of the stock market today.

Come on, folks! The messiah was just elected the leader of the free world! Happy days are here again! Even the new White House Chief of Staff is totally down with it ... his surname means "God with us."

Oh, wait ... this is going to take a while -- even for he who walks on water --because President Bush got us into this mess. No, wait ... Ronald Reagan was the true architect of the current economic crisis! And whatever blame is left over goes to John McCain and Sarah Palin.

I'm beginning to feel as though I'm being discriminated against.

Don't believe anyone who tells you the "mess" we're supposedly in (someone forgot to tell the throngs spending beaucoup bucks at our local restaurants, retail establishments, and outlets of amusement) had anything to do with Jimmy Carter ... or for that matter Barney Frank, or his playmates, Fannie and Freddie.

Oh, wait ... for Barney it's not Fannie so much but definitely Freddie.

Turns out B. Hussein Obama won't be able to keep all his campaign promises after all! Oh, wait ... did anyone out there really believe his campaign promises? I know I didn't ... because he didn't make any to me.

At our house we've always worked hard, paid our own mortgage, and bought our own groceries.

We've never taken handouts from the government, so we're not part of the change America so desperately needed. I'm beginning to feel as though I'm being discriminated against, y'all.

In B. Hussein Obama's first term ... you know -- the one leading up to reelection of the incumbent savior of the world in 2012 -- everything that is wrong, goes wrong, or looks as though it might possibly go wrong, will still be George W. Bush's fault.

Don't forget that, now ... oh, wait!  You won't forget!  The liberal drive-by media will remind you at least one thousand times per hour.

But no worries! We can fix all of it in no time by borrowing hundreds of billions of dollars from China.

And if you buy into that, there's some oceanfront property on Mars that I think will be just right for your retirement. You can live next door to Oprah.

Jennifer, thank you for your comment on my post about - well, you know who. I left a "comment to your comment," which I don't usually do, so here's a heads up if you want to read it. Let me know what you think. One thing i will reiterate here - I think the way President Bush has been treated is abominable and hateful, and just plain wrong. Therefore, I refuse to emulate that behavior toward this duly elected President. I mean, we wanted a huge turnout and we got it. Huge! And they voted for the other fella. And I refuse to act towards their choice the way they acted toward mine. But it doesn't mean I'm not still fighting hard for what is right. Believe me, we are still on the same side, you and I!

November 6, 2008 | Unregistered Commenterrosezilla

@ Tracie ... girl, you play your game, with my blessing, and I'll play mine. This is a classic battle of good versus evil. We are on the side of God and they are on the side of the Godless. It is that simple. Yes, we are in a mess ... but it wasn't God-fearing folks who got us there. It was folks who would deny the sovereignty of God and not only embrace progressive secular humanism, but force the rest of us to do so as well. So as I said ... I will respect the office of President of the United States as I have always done, but cannot and will never respect this man. It goes against all I believe in and all that I believe true Americans hold dear.

November 6, 2008 | Registered CommenterJennifer

Jenny, you have such an amazing ability to pull off sarcasm in the most poignant way. I'm impressed!

My favorite part about the alleged new chief of staff is his comment to HIS staff in which he said, "[Republicans] can go **** themselves."

Bipartisan, "working across the aisle", we're-all-one-big-happy-family-now...riiiiiiiiiight.

I agree, though, in your comment to a comment above. I will respect the office, but I cannot respect that man. I believe we pray for our leaders, but I also believe that there are times when we pray that God REMOVES said leaders if they will not bow to the King.

November 6, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterAngi

Ok, I'm cool with that. I have to admit I find it creepy the way they act like it's the second coming or something. That's disturbing! I guess it's just different values... like Clinton being so honored when he was impeached for something that would have gotten him jailed if he'd been one of the military leaders. Oh, wait, he WAS commander in chief. Anyway, I think probably everyone including Obama himself will soon realize his actual power is greatly limited.

November 6, 2008 | Unregistered Commenterrosezilla

Angi, did Rahm Emanuel really say that? Mercy! He must have learned that kind of vulgar behavior from B. Hussein, who made a rude gesture to Hillary during a political speech! And they think this eighth-grade level bad-boy acting-out immaturity will engender respect? Think again.

I disagree with much of John McCain's agenda, but at least he is a class act and a gentleman. Far from perfect, but at least he admits it. And he is a great American hero. Our new president-elect consorts with those who would destroy America. And he does so with no shame, while lying about it.

Let's not kid ourselves, folks ... they don't want our respect. They want our money and our freedom.

@ Tracie ... girl you are just plain cool. The verse I keep remembering is the one that says "If MY people, who are called by MY name, will humble themselves, and pray, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and heal their land." Emphasis added by me and forgive me if I misquoted because I did that from memory ... because I am preaching to myself!

November 6, 2008 | Registered CommenterJennifer

Hmmm... that verse keeps running through my head too. I don't think that's coincidence, do you? I tell you who I would really have liked to see as President - Alan Keyes! Now there's a conservative for you. (I'm not sure I spelled his name right, tho)

November 6, 2008 | Unregistered Commenterrosezilla

Tracie, I do believe you spelled his name correctly and I love Alan Keyes too! Also Bobby Jindal of Louisiana and John Boehner of Ohio ... and don't forget our beauteous Sarah! The GOP will prevail in 2012 and happy days really will be here again ... if the Lord does not return by then. If He does, I'll hug your neck in Glory, my friend.

November 6, 2008 | Registered CommenterJennifer

Yep, he really said that. You can see the article here.

This election has me completely baffled. You know it is absolutely battle between good and evil when no amount of logic or reasoning can explain how on God's green earth that man won enough votes to be the next POTUS.

Between now and January 20th, you can bet I'll be praying that a miracle happens. Maybe they'll discover that he isn't a citizen after all, as he purports to be. That one's resting with the Supreme Court as we speak. Reminds me, gotta pray for the judge that gets to tackle THAT one...

November 6, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterAngi

Angi, I hope that judge has beefed up his own personal security because I really believe these thugs will stop at nothing to get their way. We are living in dangerous times. We also need to pray for those in the House and Senate upon whom pressure will be brought to bear to dip their sails and vote with the Dems, so that they can attain their supermajority.

This man also, years ago during a Clinton celebratory dinner, is said to have slammed a knife into a table repeatedly while hollering the word "Dead!" after all the names of those who had opposed Clinton. This guy needs a straitjacket and a padded cell ... instead we've made him fourth in the power lineup behind B. Hussein, Nancy, and Harry. Dark days, my friend. Dark days.

November 6, 2008 | Registered CommenterJennifer

Yes, I read that story about Emanuel and the steak knife, too. What kind of irony is it that his last name means "God is with us?"

Dark days indeed. But I'll be posting a transcript on my blog tonight (hopefully) of a rant Rush Limbaugh went on the other day, and I'll tell ya one thing - it was sure inspiring. And it's nice to know there are still true conservatives out there, willing to fight for this country.

November 6, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterAngi

Girl I will definitely stop by and read it. You have said some very courageous things on your blog and I appreciate it. Rush is indeed all over this thing ... and Glenn and Sean and Annie and all the rest, God love them! We need to pray for them too, as with the Fairness Doctrine debacle, they will be facing added persecution.

November 6, 2008 | Registered CommenterJennifer

Only the most meager of minds play the blame game.
I love it - "the liberal drive by media!" That's exactly how they report. That's why I can't and don't listen to the news!

November 7, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterKeli

@ Keli ... yes to the first, yes to the second! This is going to be an interesting (and scary) four years.

November 7, 2008 | Registered CommenterJennifer

Yep, sadly, any problem during the next four years will be chalked up to "what did you expect...he's having to clean up after Bush's mess." Which means, of course, the media is going to give him a pass on ANYTHING that happens these next four years.

November 10, 2008 | Unregistered Commenterkev

Kev, that's why I'm all about 2012! No, wait ... they'll have made such a mess by 2010, the GOP will bet control of the House and Senate again! Then it's on to victory in 2012. Let's make B. Hussein Obama a one-term wonder.

November 10, 2008 | Registered CommenterJennifer

Sorry, Jen, but your anger makes you sound like one of the jihadists. Sure, we're worried about Islamic fundamentalists, but some of us worry just as much about those who would make all Muslims into terrorists and damage our freedoms as they would. Does 'Christianity' teach fear and hatred, or is there something in there about love and tolerance, too? Frankly, departed Iraqi dictators aside, 'Hussein' is a respected name in Muslim society, and you do little to hurt our president-elect by using it.

November 11, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterSid Leavitt

Sid ... so, now patriotic Americans sound like jihadists, and "death to America" Muslims are the heroes? And what makes you think I want to "hurt" B. Hussein Obama by merely using his name, or that I hate him because I do not agree with him? There's something very cult-follower about your reaction to my post.

And why would you place the word Christianity into quotes, as though it were a fictional concept? Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. No man will see God except through Him. And there is only one God, our Creator, the God of the universe. And Christians do become angry when they see a nation that once revered God, continue down a path of reviling Him.

November 11, 2008 | Registered CommenterJennifer

I put Christianity in quotes when it holds that some Christians -- like me, for example, who did not find George W. Bush a particularly good president -- are not Christians at all. Or that all Muslims are 'death to America.' Or, on Veterans Day, that I am not a patriot.

I know you are a good person, Jen, and a patriot. But so am I.

November 11, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterSid Leavitt

Sid, I am not a good person (the Bible tells us there is none righteous, no, not one). I am a sinner who has been forgiven by the grace of God. I will never be perfect this side of heaven, but I love my country. I do not assume that because you follow Barack Obama, that you do not love America. I do not, however, believe that Barack Obama loves America or that he will be good for it.

I am not an expert on Islam but I do not believe that it is a peaceful religion. Its leaders wish to destroy us. Mr. Obama wishes to undo all that President Bush courageously did to stand up to these monsters both before and after 9/11. In my eyes that is so vile, because it dishonors the great Americans who have given their lives to fight against terrorism and for the freedom of people brutalized by their Islamic leaders.

I think time will tell -- and history will show, if the liberals don't rewrite it -- that electing Barack Hussein Obama was a mistake of near-mythic proportions. I hope the damage he does can be undone partially in 2010 and wholly in 2012, but I realize that's probably unrealistically optimistic. Nevertheless it will be my constant prayer.

I crave an America for my little granddaughters, when I am gone and they are adults, that bears some resemblance to the America of which you and I and our loved ones have enjoyed the fruits since our birth.

November 11, 2008 | Registered CommenterJennifer

(Applause) Your last comment, Jennifer, was especially well written, heartfelt, and thought provoking.

Thank you, Tracie. I feel like I've entered some strange dimension where not much makes sense anymore.
