REMEMBRANCE
When I am gone,
Please remember me
As a heartfelt laugh,
As a tenderness.
Hold fast to the image of me
When my soul was on fire,
The light of love shining
Through my eyes.
Remember me
When I was singing
And seemed to know my way.
Remember always
When we were together
And time stood still.
Remember most
Not what I did,
Or who I was --
Oh please remember me
For what I always
Desired to be:
A smile on the face of God.

Do not regret growing older. It is a privilege denied to many.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. The heathen raged, the kindgoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth. He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
Psalm 46

Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it, have never known it again.

Awww - he is so cute!
Mari, he's my precious little peanut.
Cute. We have our lemon Beagle, Penelope, who snuggles up on TOP of my big throw pillows.
I've seen that stare before. The "other" Javier Lopez, the former Atlanta Brave, used to have that same look when a pitcher would throw him a hanging slider. Sometimes he would hit it out of the park, sometimes he would miss the pitch by a foot and a half, but either way Javier's eyes would get as big as saucers.
Methinks Javier the Chihuahua was dreaming about baseball two seconds before this photo was snapped. That or dog food.
@ Debbie ... ah, I'm a sucker for a Beagle! They do love to snuggle. I'll bet Penelope is a beauty.
@ Kev ... That's it! He was dreaming we had taken him to the ball park and he was being allowed to run around under all the seats, scarfing up food leavings! I just know that's his fantasy.
Absolutely gorgeous! A great photo.

He is a cute one, for sure! Our daughter has one that has some beagle in it. His name is Chip and he is a cute dog too. He was rescued from a home in the California fires. Heather says, "Oh, mom, you would love him. She now has another dog that has had eye surgery so its eye is sewn shut. I don't know why she feels the need to rescue all these dogs? Oh, she has a cat too!
We have voles in our shed. That is enough for me. Hahahahaha!
@ CJ ... thank you!
@ Cheryl ... I've seen your pics of Chip! He's a darling. Have you named your pet voles? LOLOL
