REMEMBRANCE

When I am gone,

Please remember me

As a heartfelt laugh,

As a tenderness.

Hold fast to the image of me

When my soul was on fire,

The light of love shining

Through my eyes.

Remember me

When I was singing

And seemed to know my way.

Remember always

When we were together

And time stood still.

Remember most

Not what I did,

Or who I was --

Oh please remember me

For what I always

Desired to be:

A smile on the face of God.

The promise of redemption

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. The heathen raged, the kindgoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.

Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth. He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.

Psalm 46

Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it, have never known it again.

Hahaha, that was cute! Boy, he's a talker there! Thank you so much for the gracious comment you just left on my wee little blog. You about made me cry! Oh, we are so grateful for our blessings! This is a strange Christmas with Jim being "there" and me being "here" and all the to and fro business. But we are muddling through it with good cheer because we are counting our blessings. And one of those blessings is YOU! You landed plumb right in our lives and we are better people for knowing you, Miz Jenny. Keep shining that light of yours! Merry Christmas to you and your dear family!!!

Double Ditto to what Donna said. Have a wonderful Christmas, I know you will, hug those grand girls lots, and squeeze one in for me. You're a special person in my life. Say a little prayer for me, I'm having a rough week.
